How My Food Journey Began: From Childhood Kitchen Games to Baking Obsession

Childhood Kitchen Dreams: Where My Love for Food Started

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to the magic of food. At just 8 or 9 years old, I would stand in my family's kitchen pretending I had my own cooking show — inspired by the cooking and travel shows I loved watching on TV.

Even then, I didn’t know this playful curiosity would turn into a lifelong passion for food, flavor, and baking.

Learning to Cook with My Grandmother: The First Samosa

The first real dish I ever tried making was samosa, under the warm guidance of my grandmother. She patiently taught me how to knead the dough and create the perfect spiced potato filling.

Even though it didn’t turn out as expected, it remains one of my most cherished food memories. That single experience opened a doorway to experimenting with recipes and ingredients — and I haven’t stopped since.

The Lockdown That Changed Everything: Cooking at Home During COVID-19

Fast forward to 2020 — the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and suddenly my favorite comfort foods weren’t available. Craving junk food and unable to get takeout, I decided to recreate my favorites at home.

And guess what? I was actually good at it.

That’s when cooking became more than a necessity. It became therapy.
That’s also when I truly fell in love with baking.

My First Cake: How a Simple Oreo Cake Sparked a Passion for Desserts

My first dessert attempt was shahi tukda, a rich, syrup-soaked bread pudding that made me feel like a chef. But what really ignited my obsession was the humble Oreo cake I baked in a pressure cooker.

It wasn’t perfect — but it tasted like freedom, creativity, and potential. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to explore desserts from all around the world, blending comfort, culture, and creativity.

From Spices to Sweets: My Ongoing Culinary Adventure

Whether it's vegetarian comfort food or indulgent desserts, food has become my way of storytelling. My blog is where I share that story — from flavorful memories to soul-soothing sweets.

I believe food heals, connects, and delights — and if this little corner of the internet brings you even a moment of comfort or inspiration, then my journey is already worth it.
